AI assistant (MCP)
You can register and update vendor deals from a chat with your AI assistant. Cotillion runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server; any MCP client that supports OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration can connect to it. Claude Desktop is the client we test with.
Before you begin. You need a Cotillion login. The assistant acts on behalf of the person who approves the connection, inside that person's organization, so it sees what you see and nothing from any other organization.
Connect
- In Cotillion, open Settings → Apps. The Connect an AI client panel shows the MCP server URL with a copy button.
- Add that URL to your client:
- Claude Desktop: open Settings → Connectors, click Add custom connector, paste the URL, name it "Cotillion" and click Add.
- Other clients: add a new MCP server with the URL. The scope it needs is
mcp:opportunity-registration.
- Approve the connection in the browser window that opens. The client registers itself and signs in with your Cotillion account; you never paste a token or a password into it.
Once approved, the client appears under Authorized clients on the same tab, with the scope it holds, when it connected and its last activity.
What the assistant can do
The assistant works through the same deal workflow as the Deals page:
- read your CRM opportunities and the deals Cotillion holds for each vendor;
- draft a vendor registration from a CRM opportunity, and save your edits to the draft;
- submit a registration to AWS Partner Central or Microsoft Partner Center, and update one already registered;
- ignore line items you do not want registered, or bring them back;
- list the AWS products and ask AWS Partner Central about your own opportunities.
A submission is a real registration with the vendor, exactly as if you had clicked Submit yourself, so review the draft before you ask the assistant to send it.
Disconnect
Open Settings → Apps, find the client under Authorized clients and click Disconnect. It loses access within seconds; you can connect it again at any time.
